Adult Group

Our adult group has around 50 active members aged from 17 to 75, from beginners to experts. We have 8 qualified British Canoeing Coaches and Leaders. From April to late October the group meets for local paddles and skills development on Thursday evenings with extended sessions and weekend trips throughout the year. The group is roughly evenly split between those with a preference for open canoeing and those preferring closed cockpit kayaks, with a growing interest in stand up paddleboards which we added to the club in 2019.

Thursday Paddle

In the warmer months we paddle on Thursday evenings from the clubhouse at Donnington bridge. Usually the group splits into a social paddling group, and a group focussed on skills improvement. We encourage members to try all the types of craft.

Weekend Paddles

We run morning or day trips most weekends in the Summer – from a short paddle to a longer day trip to a local pub for lunch and back. A great opportunity to improve paddling skills and stamina.

Trips and Events

Through the year we have a range of longer events – trips to the River Dee, a camping weekend at Eyensham Lock, Bush-Craft weekends, trips to the South Coast to enjoy a bit of sea-kayaking. And of course winter pool sessions to improve your kayak rolling skills.
